     George Lowden began making guitars in ernest in 1974 and the business has developed over the intervening years to our present team of 10 skilled craftsmen building Lowden guitars by hand.

Lowden Baritone- This Incredible sounding baritone guitar is based on Lowden’s O body size, essentially a small jumbo but with a deeper 5” lower bout. The longer     27.56” scale pushes the bridge a little closer to the center of the lower bout. An area considered the sweet spot for bridge placement. Features AAAA grade Figured Walnut back and sides and an extremely tight grain AAAA Sitka Spruce top, Flame Maple binding and backstrip, Rosewood, Abalone rosette with Rosewood/ Sycamore and Mahogany rings, Ebony fretboard bound in Ebony and Maple, 5 piece Mahogany and Rosewood neck, Rosewood/ Mahogany and Maple purfling, Rosewood bridge, Ebony front and back headstock overlay, Pearwood wedge,Gotoh Gold 510 tuners with Ebony buttons, bone nut and split saddle and 1 3/4” nut.
